Demand Your Rights

In the event you are ever put into the situation to have a law enforcement officer read you your rights, you should immediately inform him or her that you do not wish to speak to them, or make a statement without an attorney present.  By law, at that request, they are not allowed to question you any further.

I Demand to Have an Attorney present before I speak to you.

I Will Not Talk to you or anyone about anything.

I Will Not Answer Any Questions or reply to any charges without my Attorney present.

bullet

I Do Not Agree to perform any test, allow my property to be searched or participate in any lineup.

bullet

I Will Not Sign anything unless my attorney agrees I should do so.

bullet

I Will Not Waive any of my Constitutional Rights.

Defendant's Rights

If you are being prosecuted for allegedly committing a crime, you, as the defendant have certain rights guaranteed under the Constitution. 

bullet You have the right to a speed trial.
bullet You have the right to a jury trial (in most cases).
bullet You have the right of presumed innocence.
bullet You have the right against self-incrimination.
bullet You have the right to testify on your own behalf.
bullet You have the right to cross examine and confront witnesses.
bullet You have the right to produce evidence.
bullet You have the right to use the court's subpoena power to compel witnesses to testify.
